Tallook’s Tall Denim Guide for Fall 2011

Aug 23, 2011 by

Hello all!

The past week I’ve been gathering links to online stores that carry tall jeans from 34” to 40” inseams. I made sure to cover different body types including:

Tiny to super talls
Slim to plus size talls &
Teens to Woman fit.

I also listed affordable to high-end jeans to cover every budget. Of course, I didn’t list every single store; however, online stores like tallcouture.com and onestopplus.com list jeans from several different online sources. Normally you can check their listing and then go directly to the brand website, if you wish. Though I put the jeans in the following categories:

  • A little something for everyone.
  • Affordable
  • High-end
  • Exclusively Plus Size
  • Teen/College
  • Women
  • Custom
  •

some of them actually teeter between a couple of categories. I tried to add them to the closest one. I didn’t go into which jeans work with what figures because it really depends on a particular style vs. brand. I recommend trying them on in regular length in the store and then order the right cut online. Places like Gap will let you order them in tall directly from the store.

From what I read trends for Fall 2011 are:

  • High-waisted Flares [70s are coming back]
  • Skinny is still in! [just make sure you can sit comfortably]
  • All denim outfits [this one scares me a bit]
  • Super baggy boyfriend jeans [I do love comfort]
  • Animal and snakeskin print [Just say NO!! I can’t wait until the 80s look is out]
  •

Check out the list below. Please let me know if I left off your favorite store or brand in the comments. Remember to KIT with Tallook on FB and Twitter. Also, I’m now addicted to Pinterest.

    Happy Shopping,

    Tallook

PS. I wish the jean fairy would create more unique cuts in larger sizes instead of stopping at size 32! Just a thought. Fourteens need cute jeans to! Jean lust below:

There is Indi http://www.indicustom.com/custom-jeans/womens-jeans which has a wide variety of women’s sizes to an inseam of 40 inches. They regularly have Groupon deals that take the price down to $85, but the normal price is about twice that. You send in measurements and customize the design and get the jeans about a month later. If there are any problems they will rework it until it is right. A friend took two tries, but the end results were very good. Mine also took two tries but were worth it. If you are really tall and need something a little beyond 40″ you can speak with them and they’ll go a bit more.

      • Thanks Jheri! I totally forgot to add a custom jean section. I looked at the article I did on them and then forgot to add them. It took two time for me also, but once they get it right your correct measurement are in the system which is nice. I’ll add them to the list tonight. Take care.
